Third Annual Pink Party Benefits The Women’s Cancer Research Institute At Cedars-Sinai Medical CenterBeverly Hills, CA (PressExposure) September 28, 2007 -- For the third year in a row, event founder Elyse Walker presented another star-studded Pink Party gala benefiting the Women's Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Held at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, actress and children’s book author Jamie Lee Curtis joined Cedars-Sinai Heath System Board of Governors member, Richard Maize and his wife Rochelle of Beverly Hills, along with hundreds of other guests, to raise funds for cancer research, awareness and potential cures. Co-hosted by Jessica Biel, red carpet celebrities included Katharine McPhee, Marcia Cross, Rebecca Romijn and Roseanne Barr among many others. "We are dedicated to supporting cancer research with the hope that researchers will discover new treatment options and forms of prevention for this devastating illness,” said Richard Maize, co-founder of The Rochelle and Richard Maize Foundation and Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors member. “Through our foundation, we are committed to giving to causes that directly benefit women with breast and gynecological cancers. Affecting more than 250,000 women each year, this deadly disease must be eradicated,” added Richard Maize. Through their newly established foundation, the Maizes choose to endorse causes similar to the Women's Cancer Research Institute that offer programs that can help reduce the threat of cancer to women through research, education, early detection and prevention. The Cedars-Sinai integrated medicine programs include the Gilda Radner Cancer Detection Program, GenRISK® Adult Genetics Program, Women's Health Services, Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center, S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center and the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Rochelle and Richard Maize have a long philanthropic history of supporting cancer research and generously contribute their time and financial resources to the American Cancer Society, Concern Foundation and other worthwhile causes. In addition to healthcare, the Maizes are involved in a wide range of meaningful causes focusing on family and child services, art, culture and community programs that work to help people live more fulfilling lives.
