
Lillian Lincoln Lambert Kicks Off "American Business Women Day's" CelebrationRichmond, Virginia (PressExposure) September 05, 2008 -- Marking the 23rd annual celebration of "American Business Women’s Day," the Richmond Area Council of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) announces its eighth annual Richmond STARS award winners for outstanding achievement and contribution to the Richmond business community. STAR recipients will be honored and feted on Friday, September 19, at the Sheraton Richmond West Hotel beginning at 5:30 pm with a cocktail reception, followed by an awards dinner at 6:00 pm. Lillian Lincoln Lambert will deliver an inspirational keynote on women’s leadership in a changing world. A resident of Virginia, Ms. Lambert is an author, successful entrepreneur, and the first African American woman to graduate from Harvard Business School (1969). Ms. Lambert's forthcoming book, A League of My Own (Making), will be published by John Wiley & Sons. Special guests, ABWA’s National President Lina Lawson and District IV Vice President Beatrice E. Burton will present the awards. This year’s awards are presented in the areas of Community Service, Education, Media, Medicine, and Small Business Ownership. The celebration will also include awards to local ABWA members in the areas of Friendship, Scholarship, and Leadership. Chapter and Network Women of the Year and ABWA Top Ten Business Women of ABWA will also be honored. Richmond Woman of the Year will also be announced. The public and press are invited.
